Ellen,

Most likely magnesium and sodium thiosulfate would be benficial in your mother's condition.

How about Calcium Pyrophosphate Deposition Disease? My 87 year old friend has calcium deposits in both arms and hands/fingers that nearly immobilize her. Can Magnesium be
of assistance in this case? Interesting information!

Matthew,

I had the same problem with some chemical companies. I finally found mine at : The Chemistry Store.

Claudia:

FYI to all: After searching chemical supply houses on line for Sodium Thiosulfate Pentahydrate, I ordered some from Sigma-Aldrich. Two days later, they e-mailed saying the ordered had been cancelled by their "review board" because I was neither an "established laboratory or a school". If anyone is looking for STP, you can forget Sigma-Aldrich. Guess I'll try E-bay as you suggested in an earlier post.

Many thanks again for your excellent web site.

Husna,

Your husband's condition sounds very advanced with complications of kidney heart and calcifications.....I think he probably needs more than alkaliune water though it will be something to add to his treatment protocol for sure. So sorry to hear about this bad news for your ex-husband.

My x-husband has recently had a triple bypass but complications due to kidney failure arise and now his left leg is without feeling which the doctors thought at first was due to his nerves. Actually latest analysis by a vascular consultant explained to us that my x has calcification. His leg has to be amputated. Do you think this could be helped if he drinks alkaline water??

Dear Anne,

We've not seen research on using sodium thiosulfate for argyria, which is a deposit of silver salts in the skin causing a grey or blue color to the skin.

I have seen little information on how to reverse this cosmetic skin problem, its generally felt to be irreversible.

I did see an abstract to a study showing laser treatment to have reversed this condition:

http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/j.1365-4632.2010.04796.x/abstract

You can always contact Dr. Sircus in consultation for more discussion about this and the dosing and what you might try. I'm sorry to not have more information for you at this time.

Sodium thiosulfate can be found at various chemical supply houses and even on ebay....and generally is used in the pentahydrate form. If you got crystals you only need a very few to add to water to either drink or apply to the skin, or more to put into a bath.

Claudia,

I have argyria, which I have had for 8 years or so. I am interested in using sodium thiosulfate to rid my skin of the silver and resulting discoloration. Can you advise me on where to buy it and what concentration to use?

Thank you, Anne

Kathy,

Magnesium tends to aid in dissolving calcium deposits, rather than dislodge them.

There are other things on Dr. Sircus' protocol which will help to prevent strokes and dissoilve the calcium deposits such as sodium thiosulfate.

Hello,

My 85 year old dad has a calcified mitro valve and just had 2 small strokes the other day. I would like to introduce this information to him and his doctor, but my mom is concerned that introducing something like this protocol could loosen the calcium and cause more strokes. Can you tell me if this is likely? Thanks for any information you may have.
