Many things on my protocol will be beneficial for people with ALS-Amyotrophic Lateral Schlerosis or commonly known as Lou Gehrig's Disease.

Recently researchers are reviving the long given up theory that this is caused by a virus or bacteria. So for sure iodine should be used.
Magnesium is being found to be helpful for muscle contractions/spasms and to protect the neurons especially from the effects of mercury and other heavy metals that might be involved. Selenium is protective as well.
Alpha Lipoic Acid is also helpful in protecting the neurons with its antioxidant powers.
These are just the basics that should be employed in treatment of this devastating illness.

Good morning Doctor -

Do you have any protocols for the treatment of ALS - as you know, this deadly disease affects the motor neurons. My friend who has it is currently eating by way of a feeding tube, consuming tins of that high calorie liquid stuff they prescribe.

Any advice would be greatly appreaciated.

Thank you,
Ted Kusie

Alcohol abuse causes a rapid depletion of magnesium. In recovery programs, magnesium is given via IM injection to bring body levels up immediately since the levels drop so low.

Dear Dr. Sircus,

I thoroughly enjoy your newsletters and find them a refreshing source of information. Your articles on magnesium and the use of
magnesium oil transdermally does bring up a question that I hope you
can answer. Is magnesium oil (magnesium chloride) absorbed more
efficiently than the same mixture of 1:1 magnesium sulfate (epsom salts) and water when used transdermally and is its action after absorption superior to magnesium sulfate in any way? I can find
epsom salts easier and much cheaper here than I can the magnesium
chloride. I am already taking 500mgm of magnesium oxide (bid) for my blood pressure and wondering if the magnesium chloride would be superior in this case or for any other problem someone might have?
