Magnesium Deficiency

Magnesium is grossly deficient in the great majority of people existing on modern diets. The clinical situation is so bad that when it comes to magnesium people with chronic diseases can be sure that their magnesium levels will be very low. This means that they will respond exceptionally well to treatments with magnesium chloride.

Magnesium chloride treatments address systemic nutritional deficiencies, act to improve the function of our cells and immune system, and help protect cells from oxidative damage. But these are not the only foods that are devoid of magnesium. In general magnesium has been depleted from topsoil diminishing dietary intake across the board while our need for magnesium has increased do to increasing toxic exposure.

    I have been diagnosed with severe osteoporosis. I am deficient in Vitamin D and am now supplementing to bring it up to a stronger level. I believe I am getting enough calcium through nutrition but since I am not sure about the levels I need of magnesium I don’t know if I need to supplement my diet.

    Can you give me some guidelines on this? Thanks so much!

    With the declining levels of magnesium in our soils and the increasing amounts of processed foods today (which strip most of the magnesium out of grains etc.) you can count on the fact that just about everyone is deficient in magnesium. Recent studies show that over 67% of the general population is deficient in magnesium and while it is recommended that dietary intake will raise magensium levels, the amount needed by us on a daily basis is not easily obtained.

    Using Magnesium Oil on a daily basis (1-2 oz/day depending on size, wt. etc) will help to keep your levels at their maximum for all bodily functions provided your kidneys are in good functioning order.

    You can do this, absorb magnesium through a humidifier, but the amount would not be as great as if you used a nebulizer and you would waste a lot of magnesium into the surrounding air.

    Magnesium certainly deserves more attention from traditional medicine, and I’m a strong advocate for transdermal Mg. But its important to consider the holistic approach with health and nutrition. Nutrients work together like a sports team. No matter how skilled a player might be, and no matter how important his position might be, its sort of meaningless if he doesn’t get enough cooperation and support from the team.
    Your health is an essay question, to which the answer is never as simple as…magnesium. Step one…take responsibility for your OWN health. Digestive health is critically important because YOU ARE WHAT YOU ABSORB. The key is to cleanse your GI tract and digestive organs, and allow them to heal, so they can start functioning and absorbing nutrients again. Find out if you have any food allergies, or infections (parasites, H.Pylori, candidiasis, etc). Your body is an incredible healing machine, it just needs your cooperation and the right biochemical tools… Not food additives, environmental toxins, and pharmaceuticals! Eat more RAW ORGANIC foods, including vegetables, fruits, herbs and spices, seeds and nuts, raw milk only, also whole grains, sardines, cod liver oil, probiotics, and a source of iodine. Cook food minimally!! Drink more clean (unfluoridated) water, limit your exposure to toxins from household and cosmetic products, limit your EMR exposure, and don’t forget sleep, excercise, sunshine, and stress relief. Fasting twice a month is very helpful too. Mimic the experiences of our forefathers. Forget all the studies, use common sense.

    I’m grateful for your website and products. I hope to begin using them as soon as I’m fully employed again. My mom is 84.5 and has HBP, Diabetes 2, Fungus and now Neuropathy. I was home and found a nerve I believe on the back of her calf that is very hard and bulging. I purchased another brand last year and she did not use it.I purchased it for her heart palps but she went with the Drs Script and procedure instead. She is now using the Mag Oil on that area of her leg specifically. She cannot soak in a tub bc she can’t get out due to degenerative disk and arthritis. It sounds like she has been deficient for years. I’m working on getting her regular massages with the Mag. I think the gel or lotion will be better for her bc she did complain that the oil was too oily and she tends to quit using something when she has an aversion to it.

    I would like to know your thoughts on Enteric Coated Magnesium Chloride pills? Obviously I’m trying to get her levels up. Her kidneys are good according to lab tests. I fear she is dehydrated as well bc she simply will not drink enough water, barely a glass a day…it frustrates me. She lives on her own and 2 hours from me so I’m limited in what I can oversee.

    Use of any oral magnesium product will only take longer to get her magnesium levels up. Transdermally used magnesium chloride is a better option and perhaps the gel offered by LL’s Magnetic Clay would be more suitable for her. I suggest you contact them to find the most acceptable product as they have a number of types: bath salts, the oil, gels and lotions.

    Whatever you can do to get her to drink more water will no doubt help a lot. being chronically dehydrated is not good.
