Jeff

nebulizing hydrogen peroxide should be considered with great caution and done under a doctors supervision. It must be properly diluted.

See Dr. Sircus' essay: http://magnesiumforlife.com/transdermal-magnesium/nebulizing-magnesium-and-other-medicinals/

and see also the information at: http://educate-yourself.org/cancer/benefitsofhydrogenperozide17jul03.shtml

Hi Arnold,

The definition of isotonic from Biology online : " Pertaining to a solution that has the same tonicity as some other solution with which it is compared. For example, blood serum is isotonic to a physiologic salt solution. Solutions that have same tonicity will result in no net flow of water across the cell membrane."
An isotonic solution has the same salt concentration as the cells of the body or blood. as opposed to hypertonic, more salt concentration than the body or blood cells or hypotonic , which indicates less than the same concentration of salt than the body or blood cells. I hope this answers your question adequately.

I went to my doctor to ask if i can try magnesium chloride oil in the nebulizer for asthma, but she said she doesn't know about that so she let me go. Is this like a do it yourself type of treatment? I am assuming most doctors do not know about it but i still feel like i would benefit from it. Please let me know which brand I should buy or where to buy it. I know i need to mix 3.5 tsp(7.5g) with 100ml of water and put that in the nebulizer. but what does isotonic solution mean?

Dear Rod,

In some instances with sensitive people, a concentration of magnesium chloride that is too high may cause irritation and bronchoconstriction . Try diluting it further. Most irritations are brief episodes of some coughing. Always stop use if irritation continues.

I tried the nebulized magnesium mixed per drections and it was very irritating to my lungs, have COPD so I am trying to use mag instead of albuterol sulfate. Have I done somthing wrong I did test the mag and distilled water and both have a ph of 5.8 to6.0 would this irritate my tubes.

Nebulization for radiation is an untested treatment. bathing in sodium bicarbonate is the recommended treatment as this removes toxins from the body and has been shown to be effective in times of radiation. Overdoing nebulization can have serious consequences. It is ok during brief uses for asthma and acute poisonings, and for some colds and flu, but use with caution in the sensitive lungs.

Dr. Sircus feels that following the directions in his essay, and using once daily should be safe if you want to try this. Nebulized sodium bicarbonate should be used in concentrations of less than 2% (which generally means about a 4:1 dilution of standard 8% sodium bicarbonate)
This use would be dependent on many things such as how high of an exposure are you getting daily, how close to source of radiation are you, general health condition, etc.

Please tell us how to mix sodium bicarbonate for nebulization at home. We are preparing for this use due to radiation..
we will be using Bob's sodium bicarb as we have been informed it has no aluminum.

Please give us a recipe!
